The City of Kamloops understands that recreation is an important part of healthy living. ARCH is a subsidy program that provides an opportunity for individuals with a limited income to participate in a variety of recreational activities.
You may qualify for ARCH if you are a permanent resident of the City of Kamloops and meet one of the options below:
A. Receive Income Assistance from the Ministry of Social Development.
B. Have an annual income in the previous/current year that is below the Statistics Canada Low Income Guidelines. (see application form)
C. Receive a Canadian Pension or Long-term Disability that is below the Low Income Guidelines.
All applicants must provide:
• Primary Photo Identification: BC Drivers License or other photo ID
• Secondary Identification: Birth Certificate or Care Card
• Proof of Residency: Current Utility Bill (e.g. BC Hydro, Telus, or Shaw)
• Financial Confirmation: Ministry of Social Development approval or Canada Customs and Revenue Agency’s Notice of Assessment for previous or current year for each adult
How to Apply?
Complete the application form (which you can pick up at the City of Kamloops, or any referral agency and bring all required documents)

Our Hours for processing applications is
Wednesday and Fridays from 1:30-4:30 pm.
All ARCH applications must be taken to one of the referral agencies; applications will not be accepted at City facilities. Successful applications will be given an Approval Letter. You must then take the Approval Letter to one of the following locations:
Tournament Capital Centre
Monday – Friday, 5:30 am – 11:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday, 6:30 am – 9:30 pm
Interior Savings Centre
Winter: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Summer: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
