Under contract with White Buffalo Indigenous Services and the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Ashcroft Counselling provides counselling sessions through a referral process with the Ministry. The services are delivered in the form of one-on-one, couples, and group counselling sessions.
Services are extended not only to the main client but also to their children, parents, grandparents, and any other relevant members of the family group. Examples include; face-to-face therapy sessions, psycho-education, phone consultations, participation in family meetings, visits to the school to meet with students, visits to the local hospitals, discussions with social workers, lawyers or legal representatives, law enforcement, and other community services affecting MCFD clients.
Conditions requiring services include anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, grief, domestic violence, marital disputes, and other behavioural, cognitive and emotional predicaments.
All these services are provided exclusively in areas related to the mental health of MCFD’s clientele of families.
